Dr. Auzimuth Jackson

    Hailing from a proud, strong all-branch military family, Dr. Auzimuth Jackson was raised throughout the U.S. South and East coast before his parents retired in Fort Hood, Texas. At age 17, he earned his Associate of Arts in Biotechnology from Temple College. Following, as a Bill & Melinda Gates Scholar, he graduated with honors from Southwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts in political philosophy and Race & Ethnicity Studies. In 2020, Dr. Jackson earned his doctorate summa cum laude in African and African Diaspora Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in social policy & civil rights law, community-organizational development, and pop culture as a vehicle for social justice. For over 16 years, Dr. Jackson’s professional experiences have centered on creating positive community impact across the Higher Education, Government and Nonprofit sectors, opportunities which allowed him to serve local and international communities. He champions solutions which define ‘equity and inclusion’ by the measures of honesty, care, and accountability and understands them to be key factors for overall community wellbeing.

    Prior to joining the Washington community, Dr. Jackson served as the Senior Student Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer for The University of Kent’s three global campuses spanning the UK, Brussels and France. Currently, he proudly serves the education systems of Thurston, Lewis, Mason, Pacific and Grays Harbor counties as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Education at Capital Region ESD #113.
