Marilyn Roberts

Director of Operations

@NAMI Thurston - Mason

    Marilyn Roberts has been involved with NAMI Thurston-Mason since 2004 when she first attended a family support group meeting. She needed support from people who knew what to do in a mental health crisis and needed to talk to others who felt alone while caring for a loved one with a mental health condition. Marilyn continued attending NAMI Family Support group and later that year attended the NAMI’s signature family education course “Family to Family”. The program had a profound effect on her life and her family. “The rest is history”. Since that time, Marilyn has immersed myself in “all things NAMI “and have made it her personal mission to keep NAMI programs growing and meeting the needs of the community. She became a Family to Family program leader in 2006 and continued her journey of NAMI education by taking leader training for NAMI Ending the Silence, NAMI Family Support Group, NAMI Homefront, NAMI Family & Friends, and NAMI Provider Education. Part of her journey with NAMI Thurston-Mason was the privilege of being a board member; including positions as secretary, vice president and president for 7 years. In 2018, she had the unique opportunity to leave my position in healthcare of 30 years and start her journey as the first Director of Operations for NAMI Thurston-Mason.
